What's the difference between transformers and inverters?

Heure publiée:2018-12-28 08:44

1. Inverter is a kind of transformer: Inverter is a kind of DC to AC transformer, which is actually a process of voltage inversion with converter. The converter converts the AC voltage of the power grid into a stable 12V DC output, while the inverter converts the 12V DC voltage of the Adapter output into a high-frequency high-voltage AC. Both parts also adopt the much-used pulse width modulation (PWM) technology.

2. The classification method is different: Inverters can be classified according to the characteristics of wave string, source and current, type of grid connection, topology and power level. Transformers are divided into phases, cooling modes, uses, windings and cores.

3. Functions are different: Inverter has five protection functions: short circuit, overload, over/under voltage and over temperature. The main functions of transformer are voltage conversion, current conversion, impedance conversion, isolation, voltage stabilization (magnetically saturated transformer) and so on.
